SEND
Vittoria Primary School is determined to meet the varied needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Our promise is that children and young people with SEND, as with all pupils, will receive an education at Vittoria that enables them to:
- Achieve their full potential
- Become confident individuals able to live fulfilling lives
- Be ready to make a successful transition into the next stage of their education and beyond
It is all staff members responsibility to ensure that a pupil with SEND gets the support that they need. This means everyone doing everything they can to meet the pupils’ individual, educational needs.
You will find more information in our SEND Policy and SEND Information Report.
Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) at Vittoria
One of our key aims at Vittoria is to ensure all children are included. Inclusion is a non-negotiable and it is our job as a school to aid all our children to allow them to succeed.
We provide a rich, engaging and relevant curriculum, however, we are aware that some children may require extra provisions that is additional to, or different from other children in their class.
Should this need present itself, we will meet as a team with the parents to discuss whether the child would benefit from being placed on the Special Educational Needs Register. This allows the child and their needs to be considered in an in-depth way through a Pupil Passport. This will allow for additional and/or different provisions to be planned. These plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
Some children have more complex needs, and in these instances, we may draw upon the specialist services that are available to us as an Islington school. These include (but are not limited to):
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Educational Psychologists
- The Bridge Outreach (School for ASC)
- Samuel Rhodes Outreach (School for children with MLD)
- New River College Outreach (School for children with behavioural needs)
- CAMHS
- Bright Futures
- School Nurses
For a small number of our pupils, their needs are such that they require an Educational and Health Care Plan. If this is the case, the school will work closely with the parents and the SEN team of the borough that the child lives in.
Vittoria Primary School’s SEND Policy and Information Report sets out how we provide for all our children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) throughout their time with us.

What is the Local Offer?
Every Local Authority has a "Local Offer". The Local Offer puts all the information about ducation, health and care services, leisure activities and support groups in one place. It has two main purposes:
- To provide clear, comprehensive and accessible information about the support and opportunities that are available; and
- To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations.
